Distil rehearsals

by Karen Marshalsay - 01:10 on 17 October 2006

Well this being a composer lark is hard graft and gremlins all round methinks!  So far I've been beset with computer sound problems, alarm clocks deciding to reset themselves on rehearsal days and so on and so forth .... but we had the first rehearsal of the new piece on Sunday which was a bit scarey hearing it for the first time but a good feeling too.  So now all I have to do is learn my part before Friday!!

The piece will be performed by

Iain MacInnes - border pipes and whistle  / Fiona Young - accordion / Christine Hanso - cello /  Mairi Campbell - fiddle and viola  / Sarah Wilson - fiddle / Dick Lee - soprano sax and bass clarinet / and myself on clarsach and bray harp.

Rick Taylor will conduct on the gig, but thanks to Simon Thoumire for md'ing on Sunday.
