FEBRUARY FAVOURITES

HARP HANG

WITH KAREN MARSHALSAY

Saturday 20th February 2021 - 6.45 doors open for 7pm start on Zoom

I'll be doing another livestream event from the kitchen, this time with a selection of all of my favourites tunes. And there will be the chance to have a bit of chat too. Tickets are £5 sent to paypal.me/karenmarshalsay  (remember to put your email address in the comments box and you'll be sent the zoom link). Or join me in my Patreon page and you get free access to Harp Hangs along with monthly teaching videos, sheet music, and music videos. Subcripstion tiers start at £2 for general supporters and £5 for tunes patrons.

If you'd like to play along or try out some of the tunes afterwards here are some pdfs that you can download with the tune and chords.

These tunes are all free to download whether you've got a ticket for the Harp Hang or not. If you'd like to support me and buy me a coffee that would be lovely thanks, but there's no obligation!

Jane Pickeringe's Lilt /  Emma / Erev Shel Shoshanim - The first two are on my album The Road to Kennacraig, and the last is one I've played for many years.

O'Carolan's Welcome / Cutty's Wedding / Andrew's Smiles / Glenlivet - an O'Carolan tune, a strathspey, a reel I wrote about 20 years ago and one of the first reels I ever learned!

Patrick McDonald Jig / I will not goe to my bed til I suld die / Lis na Gun - three jigs I've loved and played for a long time. The first is unnamed and from the Patrick McDonald Collection, the second was one of the first tunes I ever learned and comes from the Skene manuscript, and the last was written by piper and harper Brendan Ring and is now a firm favourite with harp players.

The Three Legged Clarsach - a tune I wrote at the feis on Barra many years ago when my co-tutors clarsach lost a leg!

Carrill's Lament - another definite favourite, especially on the wire-strung harp.
