Sound Thought!

A new piece featuring excerpts from the diaries of 18th c musicologist Alexander Campbell (Albyn's Anthology) along with performances on clarsach, pipes, whistle, jew's harp, piano and Gaelic song will be performed on Friday 28th November as part of the Sound Thought postgraduate music students degree show at Glasgow University. The piece has been put together by PhD student Karen McAulay, with Karen Marshalsay on clarsach, Allan MacDonald on pipes and things and Luciana Camara on piano. A fascinating glimpse into the world of the 18th c collector - what he heard and what he published and how traditional musicians play those tunes and songs today! Come along. Admission free.
