Harp tribute concert for Esme Feb 16th

Leading clarsach players including Karen Marshalsay, Jennifer Port and Fiona Rutherford will give a concert in Kinross Parish Church on Sunday February 16 in tribute to Esme Macintyre, the young harper who died aged eighteen last summer after suffering from a brain tumour for nearly seven years. Esme played clarsach from the age of nine and became an inspiration to thousands of people via her Facebook page after she began writing an account of the challenges she faced through her illness. Having decided to make the most of her short life with a wish list of people to meet and things to do, Esme took part in fashion shows, went snow biking and hot air ballooning and met sporting heroes Sir Chris Hoy and Andy Murray and singers Amy Macdonald and Emeli Sande. All the participants in the concert have written tunes especially for Esme and will perform them in her honour. Proceeds will go to Teenage Cancer Trust. www.facebook.com/EsmesAdventure
