DANCE TUNES FOR SUMMER! Online lever harp workshop on 19th May 2024

£30.00

Come and learn a set of dance tunes for summer with leading Scottish harper Karen Marshalsay. The workshop will be on zoom, and recorded to watch on demand afterwards. Sheet music and audio recordings of the tunes, to let you familiarise yourself with them, can be downloaded immediately after signing up. The tunes are the jig Toiseach a Mhàigh (First of May - not the same as the hornpipe of the same name!), Ben Lomond, a strathspey, and Cheap Meal a reel. The tunes can be played individually or will work together as a set.

The workshop will cater for mixed abilities (other than complete beginners), and all techniques and tune types will be explained so no prior experience of traditional Scottish music is needed.
